CoinDesk Indices is pleased to announce that Kim Greenberg Klemballa has joined the firm as its new Head of Marketing. Klemballa has about 20 years of financial sector experience, with a strong emphasis on the intersection of finance and public policy. In her new role, Tanya will focus on developing and executing marketing and branding strategies for CoinDesk Indices.

Klemballa’s deep experience in corporate finance marketing will be a tremendous asset to the CoinDesk Indices team. Her experience as an owner-operator, consultant, and advisor has made her uniquely qualified to understand the ever-changing state of the market and its drivers. CoinDesk Indices anticipates that Klemballa's expertise will significantly contribute to the company's growth and market presence.

Before joining CoinDesk Indices, Klemballa was Head of Marketing for VettaFi. In this capacity, she spearheaded the creation of marketing strategies. Her charge was to lead brand awareness for VettaFi’s fast-growing suite of financial products and services. Her role spanned across brand management to digital marketing and event planning.

Prior to the launch of VettaFi, Klemballa spent over a decade directing strategic beta and ETF marketing at Columbia Threadneedle. Advancing their successful reputation, during her tenure she stood at the forefront of solidifying the company’s market presence while accelerating sales development. Her work on their investor relations team included designing targeted marketing campaigns and producing educational materials for prospective investors.

Before his time at T. Rowe, Klemballa was Director of Marketing at Aberdeen Standard Investments, formerly ETF Securities. Her job was creating marketing campaigns and building the young company’s brand. Additionally, she was responsible for overseeing the development of creative marketing materials and planning industry related events.

Previous to that, Klemballa held the position of Vice President of Marketing at Source Exchange Traded Investments. Fast forward to today, and that company is called Invesco. She managed and executed multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote the company’s exchange-traded products. Her efforts grew brand awareness and drew both current and future investors, allowing HCBF to diversify their investor pool.

Klemballa’s career is a testament to a proven pipeline of high-performance financial marketing leadership. Through her capacity at each firm and position, she has developed a holistic understanding of the industry that comes with her wealth of experience. CoinDesk Indices is confident that with her leadership, it will continue to power impressive growth and further solidify its market leadership position.

Klemballa's credentials extend beyond her professional experience. She holds the Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation, reflecting her extensive knowledge and experience in event planning and management. This certification is a testament to her talent for conceptualizing and delivering strong, engaging, on-brand programming to build awareness of CoinDesk Indices’ brand and products.

Further, as someone who holds the Certified Tradeshow Marketer (CTSM) designation, her expertise on learning to leverage events for trade show marketing is deeply rooted. This certification underscores her ability to develop successful trade show strategies and ensure optimal brand exposure at industry-related events. Her state dual certification emphasizes her thorough marketing expertise.

The appointment of Klemballa comes at a time when CoinDesk Indices is focused on expanding its reach and influence in the digital asset market. Her vast expertise in branding and marketing will be key in doing these things effectively. CoinDesk Indices is confident that Klemballa’s leadership will inspire innovation, furthering its mission to lead, innovate, and stay highly competitive.

FMI industry experts understand that having a strategic marketing foundation is key to success in the fast-changing digital asset environment. With increasing numbers of investors looking to these new digital asset investments, the expectation is for straightforward, easy-to-understand communication to be essential. Klemballa’s background will serve her well as she seeks to help the department address these challenges and opportunities.

One of the more difficult markets to promote is the complex and ever-changing digital asset market. Real and effective marketing cannot be divorced from a deep understanding of the technology, regulatory landscape and private investor behavior. Klemballa’s background in traditional finance paired with her expertise in digital assets makes her a strong addition to this team.

One of the major hurdles in marketing digital asset investment opportunities is informing prospective investors about the inherent risks and rewards associated. For one, many of these would-be investors are not familiar with the technology and are thus understandably reticent to sink money into it. One of Klemballa’s many experiences in developing educational content will come in handy here, as many key players may find it difficult to trust something new or unproven.

A second challenge has been standing out with CoinDesk Indices’ products compared to competition. The digital asset market is quickly becoming a highly competitive landscape, as new companies and innovative new products are appearing on the scene almost daily. Klemballa's expertise in branding will be essential in creating a unique identity for CoinDesk Indices and communicating its value proposition to investors.

As much as the digital asset market is facing an uphill battle, there are tremendous opportunities for market expansion. With the influx of institutional investors comes the need for more sophisticated investment products and services. CoinDesk Indices is well-positioned to capitalize on this industry trend. Klemballa’s strategic marketing leadership will be key in propelling its success.

The appointment of Klemballa is an illustration of CoinDesk Indices’ dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion. Her role as a female leader in what is overwhelmingly still a male financial industry makes Klemballa an inspiration to women and other underrepresented groups. Her appointment to the leadership team is a testament to the company’s strong values and commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Like the digital asset market at large, trends and technologies are emerging daily. About CoinDesk Indices CoinDesk Indices is committed to being at the forefront of industry innovation. We pride ourselves on bringing our clients the most creative and trusted investment products ever created. It’ll be Klemballa’s marketing expertise that proves invaluable as the company spreads the word about these exciting advancements to the market and brings in new clients.

In the world of digital assets, financial professionals are listening. Chris Sullivan follows suit, making the case for why it pays to invest in this thrilling new asset class.

"First of all, with digital assets, you get a quantitative diversity of return. Per increment of risk to reward, the ratio of the performance of bitcoin to the S&P 500 is more than three to one. So if you're going to invest money, one of the best risk-reward ratios is, without question, in digital assets as a stand-alone asset class." - Chris Sullivan

Sullivan continues, beware of the predatory digital assets.

"I don't want to touch that asset, since memecoins are down 90%.” - Chris Sullivan
